Apocalypse Now, Fact Or Purely Fiction

-->
Last weekend I spent most of my time watching apocalyptic inspired movies three of them in fact. It was a recent in such genre if one can actually call it recent, Though admittedly these movies was released a few years back. It was my first time watching them, so I think I'll call them recent in my own point of view. Apocalyptic genre isn't new to movies and has always been a big money spinner for Hollywood as far as one could remember from Mad Max to Terminator, metrix and the list goes on. And with all honesty I'm fan of such movie genre, seriously!. The creativity and the deepness of the story not to mention its vivid special effects, can bring one to ponder if such genre could be a possibility in a not so distant future. Of course one can certainly argue the fact that we as a race has for the first time since Alexander the Great started to take a stroll with his entire army and see the world. We, or to be more specific "powerful countries", has the capability to wipe our entire pathetic existence in less than an hour. Though there might be some few survivors here and there, it is however a certainty that if there would be another war to follow afterwards, it would be fought with sticks and stone or some lesser equivalent, that is to say if there is any chances of meeting or even building another civilization or society after the conclusion. As for any mutation or some hideous mind controlling disease, that would be another story. Or take for example the current and unusual weather pattern the world is currently experiencing. These current unpredictable weather patterns has taken lives, destroyed property and now currently threatened the world's food supply. The question remain...Can fiction become real? Luckily, we don't need to study hard on Albert Einstein's theory of time travel and build for ourselves a time machine to know what its like after the fire so to speak if indeed such events would happen in the future, though admittedly having your own personal time machine is not exactly a bad idea altogether. But to get a clear picture of the catastrophic possibilities we only needs to go to the movies and see most particularly the visual effects never mind the story lines. A crazy thought, but there you are...
