Nuke feast or nuke diet or the lack thereof

To my opinion man's greatest achievement is its great stupidity, of course nobody wants to be called stupid, but since were on the same boat (planet) I thinks its best to say it that way, if not then please bared with me.
Every since World War 2 down to the Cold War Era and even today the world as we know it, is always and forever be threatened by nuclear annihilation. Today, nukes are considered by some as obsolete weapon system and a remnant of a troubled and paranoid past?. Now, its seemingly over shadowed by global warming, population explosion, global economy and war on terror which is similarly important, yet it seems like nukes is slowly being push down the list.
